I always arrive earlier than necessary before my flight so I spent the extra time wandering through the airport taking pictures. The Comox Valley has a large art community and they have set up a representative display of their works around the airport.
As we climbed up out of Comox we noticed that almost all of Georgia Strait was shrouded in dense fog. The sun was setting as we flew down to Vancouver (about a 40 minute flight) and I was able to get some brilliantly coloured pictures of the spectacle out the window of the plane.
In Vancouver we connected to an Air Canada Jazz flight to Cranbrook, BC. After a flight of just over an hour in a Dehaviland Dash 8 we landed in full view of the Western slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
The airport at Cranbrook is about 15km out of town between the communities of Cranbrook and Kimberley. Unfortunately my wifes luggage didn't make the connection in Vancouver and it wasn't delivered until the following evening.
