The day kicked off at 9am where along my journey to Shigatse, en-routed to Lhasa International Airport for the British couple who were scheduled to fly off to Chengdu 1130am.
In fact we drove through numerous villages along the journey, that I lost count of. The view along the roads were amazing. Nothing can be best said except by looking at the photos!
Other than the mesmerizing scenic views along the way, the traditional speed check in place was intriguing to me.
Apparently, this is not a perfect solution. Cars which sped, they will find quiet spots to park to pass time, and they will try to scrimp the time along the journey somehow. Interesting. Next time if you see a number of cars parking by the most unseeming road shoulders, you will know they are the speedy chasers who have used too little driving time, now trying to 'recuperate' for more time!
Along the journey, I was accompanied by many of the interesting anecdotes of my travel guide as well as introduced to the numerous Tibetan music on play! Wow.
I reached Shigatse city around 1pm and have another sumptuous local lunch. It reminds me of the simple & tasty soup I had in Dunhuang!
The main highlight of the day was Tashilhunpo Monastery ζδ»δΌ¦εΈε―Ί, which i leisurely toured for the remaining of the day.
To me, Shigatse was a pretty boring city as it didnt occur to me what is there to look for in the city also. So other than resting early in hotel (yes again), i spent my night in the local internet cafe nearby my hotel. Again, I was busy hunting for the cheapest route back to Shanghai. And i'm another 2 days to flying off Lhasa, now still without any air ticket booked!
