On the train running through Austria I think.
Me and my husband took the train from Germany to Florence
(or Firenze) first which took about 9 hrs I think. Unfortunately one of the downsides of traveling in any tourist area in the winter is it is the prime time for reconstruction. Florence was rebuilding streets and I think adding on to the train station so out first sight of this wonderful city was very hectic. We finally found our way to our hotel near the Duomo called The Belletini which I do reccommend. They had a friendly and very helpful staff that spoke fluent english, a wonderful breakfast buffet and clean rooms. They also reccommended some great restaurants. The sites we visited in Florence were the Boboli and Bardini Gardens.

As you can tell by the pictures the gardens are very beautiful. The Piazzale Michelangelo has a great view of the city and there's a beautiful church up some very steep steps but dont worry there is gelato waiting for you at the end. :) The Ponte Vecchio was very cool especially since its survived for so long. The Uffizi was a pretty interesting art museum. The architecture is one of me and my husbands loves of any old city which Florence has plenty of. One very curious museum we went to was near our hotel. It described certain medieval punishments and also had an actual medieval house below. It was excavated and made into a museum. Other than that we walked around to see what we could explore on our own and, of course, went shopping, :) tried different foods and my husband tried the wines which he thouroughly enjoyed but I find italian wines too dry. Thanks for reading!
