A fantastic stay in a 12th Century Castle in North Normandy. Good food, good wine and people

French people are just soooo relaxed

I've noticed on my travels through France that the hustle and bustle of every day life is just swept aside by the wonderful French. They do things at their own pace and thats that.

What a fantastic mindset that is. Why oh why cant we in England have that mentality? We are ruled by the mighty clock. And everything is a big deal. While in Bricquebec, I was in a shop and accidentally knocked, what must have been a quite expensive jar of something off a table. Immediately, I reached into my back pocket for my wallet and apologised to the shop owner. I was surprised to see a big smile on his face and a gesture that said "Ce la vie". He was just happy that I was in his shop and took an interest in his produce. Maybe it was a ploy?? He showed me into the winery at the back of the shop and I was stunned by the amount of decent wine he had for sale. Of course, I bought a bottle. Not out of guilt, but more the case that I got a 1996 Pinot Noir for 6 euros.

I love France and eventually, I WILL settle there
