Over the city and platform story again!
January 9, 2009
Last day in Barcelona!
We met Lili in the morning, and u never guess what happened. We laughed a lot about "platform-adventure of Lil" yesterdat and we thought she got it now, but ... it happened again. We were waiting at the platform and she went again out and waited there for us! LOL Finaly we met. Ok i stop teasing you little Lil!
We went - as a good start of the day - to Valvidrera and then to Tibidabo - the mountain with the church on the top. Ther was so awesome view over the Barcelona, that my buddies couldnt miss, even if it was a regular winter over there, with snow on the mountains and cold wind.
For some reason the upper church (there is a newer one in top of the older church there) was closed - well the reason was pretty obvious - RJ was in town! ;)))
It's a shame those two couldnt see it, but they will maybe if they come to Barcelona again, some in the future. ..
We went back down to the city and headed to Plaza de Torros ( - looks like we were visiting all plaza de torros in Spain;) And at that point we were saying something about being hungry, and that we want to eat some chinese food again... and here we go! as we walked out of the metro, in front of the entrance we saw chinese resto! Whooohooo! Looks like somebody was helping us a bit!;)
We saw the 'Torros' and enjoyed our chinese meal! It was soooo good, and we ate a lot!
Back to the hostel picked up the luggage and off we go to the Sants Estacio, where we drank with Lili our last coffe together. We were leaving Spain and she leaved it in few days as well. Some ggoofing moments at the coffe cup and last pics. We said goodbye and Lili went back for some shoping - we to the airport. ..
At the airport we saw our flight delayed about 2 hrs! Oh %^&*&^%$#$%*% !!! We could stay in town for two hrs more! Insted of great time with Lili we were bored there. Fortunately we had playing cards so we spent some time playing. Then we visited all the shops and restos and caffes there, played with this moving pavements and were bored to death. Then we had this idea, how to make an airport a better place for people waiting for hours for their planes. There are only shops and places to eat or drink something - almost on each airport (right at CDG-Paris u dont have even restrooms - STUPID AIRPORT!!!!) but there are no places to spend the time in a nice way and maybe more usefull than just sitting and staring at other passangers.
So we came to the idea that the airports should:
1) in every waiting area put a big screen with some movies, or at least music channels
2) make some playground for kids to save them from boredom
3) make some room for plays like maybe ping-pong, or a table with chess, baybe some other board games
4) free internet spots
5) airport library with international books and press
Maybe u have other ideas for boredom at the airports?
