The Thalys - is the international TGV train conecting Paris with Germany, Belgium and Holland. But the ride until Bruxelles wasn't 'speedy' at all. I could beat that fake-speed-train with my bicycle easily!
It seeped up in Belgium and France but unfortunately there was a smal delay:/// (i'm sure it was because of the stupid bitch at the RER station - who we met next day!) hahahah ;)
so we came to Gare de nord and in short time we arrived at our hostel - which was pretty crapy, our room was kinda cold, and only 1 of two showers were almost ready to use (but it didnt function well either!).
After checking in we left and walked to Pantheon, and then to the St. Michel where we had our lunch in a taiwanese-chinese resto. Yammi!
Our next stop was Notre-Dame, which we didnt visited inside because of the 472 km long queue. So we went to Ils-St-Luis and then to Marais and the Place des Vosges. then we walked back to the hostel and it was like 17.00 from that point the city transportation was free for everyone! And so we saved few euro;)
we went to Louvre - but the exhibitions were closed, only the phyramid-entrance was open. Then we walked from Louvre over Tuleries to pl. de la Concorde where the Champs Elysees starts. With this huge karussel and nice view over the whole avenue. We took some pictures and walked to Arc de Trioumph - unfortunately the roundabout (Etoile) where the Arc is situated was closed for ppl because of the New Years Eve.
Seee, RJ it's yur fault, they closed litterally everything! We were lucky they didnt turn off the sun! ahahha ;)))
Our next stop were red light district at place Pigalle and we wanted to reach the Moulin Rouge but we couldnt find it so we gave up and we went to Sacre Coer basilique. We attended there the mess and got message from Lili that she would arrive later than expected. So we decided to go by ourself to the Tour Eiffel... We had bought some beer and snacks for celebrating but... there was no celebration at all. First in the metro trains going to Champs de Mars from all directions there was such a crowd, but the worse thing was fact, that there was plenty of very loud and unpolite drunken russians, holding beer in their hands - we were kinda afraid they will throw the beer over people, but fortunatelly we came out save from that train, and even without puke on our clothes - yes they threw up all over the train and ppl:/
as we arrived to the Tour Eiffel it was like 23.
Did i mention about SHAME ON PARIS ? ;)))
This is how it should look like, this is how it looked in <<<TAIPEI>>> http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=6t1gr05sMzI&feature=related
Especially in Paris the fireworks should be breathtaking and just beautiful. That's what people expect.
So if the facts there look like that - with the crapiest NYE ever in the whole world - we decided to go back to the hostel - we were kinda pissed off so we didnt even drink the beer. We better would use it when we met Lili on the next morning. The way back took like 1 hour coz every one - disappointed - wanted to go back home after this "misunderstanding with the Eiffel and fireworks"
