Tomoko's College and Onomichi

Mihara Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

When I was in grade 7 I did an exchange to Japan for 2 weeks. In the years after I kept in touch with the girl who's house I stayed at and in March of 2006 she came to stay at my house for 10 days. After that I decided I wanted to go back to Japan. Tomoko thought it was a good idea to so I made the plans and went there by myself in August for 20 days. It was amazing, Japan is a beautiful country and I can't wait to go back. This blog is finally finished!!Yay I'm happy now.

Tomoko's College and Onomichi

Tomoko's mom drove us for about an hour to Mihara, where Tomoko lives and goes to school. We visited her school, Hiroshima Prefecture College. It was summer break so there was not many people there, but it was a very big school. Then we walked to Tomoko's apartment which is fairly closeby. It is bigger than her sisters in Osaka, but still fairly small. But its very cute, I really liked it. We looked at some pictures and then left to have lunch at Ikkyu, the sushi restaurant where Tomoko works. I'm not a big sushi fan, so I didn't eat a lot of it. I tried some, it was alright. It was a really cool place though. You sit in booths and these conveyer belt type things move around you and you take whatever kind of sushi you want from what you see go past you. Tomoko's mom felt bad that I didn't get to go swim in the ocean, so she stopped at a park on our way to Onomichi so we could walk around in the ocean. It was so nice. Then we drove to Onomichi and walked to see a lot of temples. From there we took a tram up to the top of a mountain. We had ice cream at the observation tower. From there we walked down the mountain to see some more temples. It was here that I bought a lot of really awesome souvenirs. We walked all the way back down the mountain. It was really interesting, a good day.
