"Wow!" Moments in Europe
Belgium- Waffles with fresh whipped cream and chocolate syrup- “Here’s 5000 calories for you!”; Godiva, Corne' and other chocolatiers
Ireland -Blarney Castle & kissing the Blarney stone, meeting Angela and Mia, Irish Rugby Team won the Six Nation Rugby cup- enjoying the game and victory with the Behans, one amazingly picturesque small town after another, the western coast along the Ring of Kerry
France- Eiffel Tower- biking there with Dad, buying croissants, climbing up it, seeing flash at night
Italy- Capri- Rowing to the Blue Grotto- laying in boat not to hit head, boat ride around island, funicular to town, lunch on the cobblestone walk overlooking the blue coast, buying perfume, playing in the beach, woman with rocks on her eyes.
Italy, Rome: Camping Roma- eating gelato, swimming, Bon Jovi concert, singer the night before, the Coliseum
Italy, Pompei: walking into Pompei town to eat dinner, pizza “in America” music, promenade
England, Oxford- Christ Church- Hogwarts getting lost, biking along the river to the campground
Italy, Naples: Best pizza in the World at Pizzaria de Michele
Madrid: Chorros and hot chocolate at outdoor café, Prada, eating tapas outside under the trees
Barcelona: fireworks when won the semi-finals football, enjoying the cheering that could be heard a mile away whenever a goal was scored, happy people
Dublin- Brazen Head Pub with the Behans, Book of Kells, Trinity College
France- Chambord Castle with double helix staircase, meeting Nathalie and Family
France- Rouens: Dropped bagette, set of alarm with basket, and forgot to price the bananas all in one grocery store visit
Krokaw, Poland- Lia's 10th birthday with horse-drawn carriage ride, giant peach ice cream at outdoor café watching people unicycle
Budapest, Hungary- Touring with Tomas, funicular up to the castle and bastions, park with Memorial to Annoymous
Athens, Greece- Waiter saying “Too much food!” after we ordered and helping us, Athena’s Sandals getting purses and Meagan’s bag, the amazing Parthenon
Venice, Italy: Taking the taxi boat down the Grand Canal, buying Murano glass, visiting with GB friends in campgrounds, cappuccino at the sidewalk café.
Luzerne, Switzerland: Getting 85% cocoa bar and having to run buy milk chocolate to get taste out of our mouths, grilled out
Pisa- “Hey there’s the Leaning Tower!” after we parked, walking there
Rome: Coliseum
London- Eye, Big Ben, Les Mis, “3 to Crystal Palace” bus, Jackie at Caravan Club letting us borrow her heater, Millennium pedestrian bridge and walk along river, Shakespeare's birthday at the Globe Theatre
Cork, Ireland: Butter Museum
Cambridge, England- sat on riverfront and moved feet for boat guy loading poles, saw nuns smoking and popping bottles of champagne
Prague, Czech Republic- meeting Kates' Dad (Jim) and Mary-Anne, walking the Charles Bridge, visiting the castle and medieval street, finally catching the tram rerouted for construction, pizza late at night
