Sunday in Tokyo
So, after arriving in Tokyo saturedaynight, I took a cab from Narita to the hotel. Later I realised that a bus or train would have been a lot cheaper.... But I was tired and desperately looking for a bed to crash in. The cab drove like madness and wihtin 40 minutes I was in Akasaka. My room was on the 28th floor with a nice view over a part of the city and Mt Fuji in the back.
Sunday morning I was picked up by a guy living in Tokyo and he toured me around the city. I had some great sights of Shubiya, Ginza, Senji temple and akasuka temple. We saw some weird dressed girls near Senji temple and had a great sushi-lunch in a small place somewhere. Of course we where thirsty from all the walking; green-tea and beer was the solution. I was told it was common in Japan to drink a lot of beer, so I adapted myself to local life :)
We went by watertaxi to Tokyo beach and again we got thirsty.
We found a place with a magnificient view on the Tokyo skyline and had some drinks with bites. I was supprised Sake should be hot served. I tasted a lot better than the cold stuff I once had...We went to Roppongi hill and before we went to a-sky-view-place we went to a German beergarden. Not that it was any german at all, but the beer and sausages were nice and so was the atmosphere. I we ordered a drink, the waiter yelled: "I got two beer" and all the other waiters in the place repeated it (of course it was in Japanese). Well, you can imagine that in a place with 100 people or more, a lot of yelling was done.
For diner we went to a restaurant from which the setting was used in Kill Bill 1. Apparantly from US president Bush was taken there once, and now you need to book the place one month in advance. My friend knew the floor-manager.... we got a place in 5 seconds. Sorry if you were the person who had to wait a little longer that night.
After diner its common to continue in other places. First we stopped at a bar named WallStreet1, but that sucked. Motown (almost next door) was also not crowded, but we met some nice people and had a good time.
I think I took a cab from here back to the hotel, after all, Monday would be a general working day.
