Quiet Granada & Arriving in Sevilla
January 6, 2009
I couldn't sleep much that night, actually for 2 consecutive nights, 'cause the man from the first bunk snored way too loud! :P haha.... Ahhh I am normally used to noises such as snores or airplanes flying so low that the windows start shaking.... but this man..... oh well!
So, I started the day very early around 7am, and was planning to walk around Granada. I just had half of the day to spend and didn't want to travel that far away. A cloudy start and few, very few ppl on the streets. I thought it was 'cause it was early, but after a while figured out that it was a holiday! so everything was closed :(..... There were just a couple of coffee shops, some teterias and very few vendors opened.
Walked around the cathedral, but it was closed as well, then tried to get lost around the small streets and squares, and remembered that someone told me there was a very good place to eat Churros with CHocolate, a very traditional Sweet Breakfast for Spaniards. So, walking around I found the place named "La Alhambra" ahhhh how original haha... Anyway, I asked for the smallest portion of churros with chocolate and it wasn't that small hahaha, but it tasted MAGNIFICENT!!! :D ... Very different from the churros that we have here in Lima. ahhhh sometimes we gotta hear when ppl recommend :P
After the delicious churros, I had to walk, walk walk a lot hahah and try to lie to myself and think I am burning some of what I just ate :) .... Ahhhh the town was so desert, but walking around I found some artisans, all types, specially selling arabic things... So, I stayed checking them for a while, but despite I wanted to buy several things, I had to control myself :S. The prices were definitely cheaper than in Barcelona, but still I didn't have space in my pack, it was a good think after all :)
Around the place crosses the Genil river, but it didn't look that clean :S .... and I kept walking around Paseo de Salon and surroundings... and then had to go back to my hostel to pick up my backpack, leave to the train station to get on my way to Sevilla.
