The adventure of (yet un-named ) the gnome begins !

stop over on our way to Bolivia

What a horrible bus ride from Iguazu to Salta!!!

We bought a direct ticket with “Fletcher Bus” but when boarding the bus where told we had to change the bus in the next town… plus the bus driver demanded 5Bes$ for each bag to load it on the Bus – we never had this before sure some guys ask for tips, but actually demand this of us???

Then during the ride we did not get anything at all nor was anyone looking after us at all. The Bus driver where listening to Typical music in he’s cabin so loud that we all could hear it up in the upper part, one of the travelers was asking him to turn it down where they just turned the volume up and started singing the whole way to Salta (about 20hr)    Finally we got in to Salta, which I must say has a lot to offer, it is certainly cheaper then any other place we visited in Argentina, There plenty of sights to visit, however one is attraction – the “Tran de las nubs” who did not yet run is at a whopping 170 US$ a round trip to the top of the mountain which a Bus ride where you get to stop to take pictures does pretty much the same and is only at a 190 BES$ begs to ask who is actually still taking the train??? Salta has a few nice Museums and day trip’s.

On the base of the “gondola” is a small lake where souvenir stalls  are and a few good food stalls too!

We did not opt to go to any of them as our plan was to head in to UYUNI in Bolivia sooner.- so a midnight Bus trip to the border with Bolivia and then a overnight train ride. Crossing the border by foot…
