The adventure of (yet un-named ) the gnome begins !

scuba diving in Vancouver

Once again I was “hungry” to get below water.. when in Seattle we had a few days of rain and I actually enjoy diving in the rain so I was wandering if I could do it in Vancouver  after all we had a few days to kill over there..

So online to search for dive shops/ clubs and or trips.. and I got lucky a trip was posted form a dive shop in Vancouver, so I looked it up send them a message to put me on the list.

When we got in to Vancouver we took a bus to search for the dive shop .. met an aussi guy there and did the booking.

One thing I did not know at that time was that the dive shop actually just books on a boat themselves and I only got to rent the gear form the shop which was actually not cheap (~100.-)

I got a lift to the dive boat which was nice.

We where 11 divers most of them had dry suit lots of them used new gear or part off so for some it was a bit different diving and had some troubles with the new configuration.

But the crew of “Sea Dragon”  - www.blueadenture.ca  was fantastic helping out, giving tips and arranging for the divers to get correct weight to stay below water!

During the chat I discovered they are form Florida key’s and had been here only a few years now.. we had a chat about diving on the Florida key’s , as I had been there myself 3 times and know the locations.. was good to hear and chat about the same spots.. Key west. Islamorada key and even Tampa with crystal river and the manatees’

Diving itself, water temperature about 9 ‘C viz; about 15 meters, the bottom was covered in star fish like a carpet

Was nice to meet some local divers and hopefully made new friends too!
