The adventure of (yet un-named ) the gnome begins !

first stop ALASKA cruise

We knew we would like to visit Alaska but had not set an exact location to go so when I saw the trip offered by Carnival, 7 days from Vancouver to Anchorage (350.-) I could not say no to it.

The advantage of course is not only do we get a place to stay for 7 days, we get food, entertainment and of course transport.

Man  oh man was I not prepared for it all… people came on the 7 day with bags full of cloths….and of course we had 2 formal nights.. and I did not have shoes for it……should have bought them in Mexico..lol

I never saw such a concentration of “BIG” people on one spot!!

There was a big focus on FOOD , well how could it not be a Pizza restaurant 24/7 open, food almost anytime as much as one could handle……selection of different styles of restaurant and of course room services.

Then only thing one need to worry about is the cost of drinks, beauty shop, and tons of picture  which are taken ongoing on board as well every stop.

Anyhow we left Vancouver on a rainy day behind to sail 1 day at open seas to get to Ketchikan, where we find a historic town with plenty to explore.

Again shopping was one of the main ideas for most of the people on board, but there is a salmon run with a little catch to it, where sailors used to run too in to the Married Man Lain, to dolly’s House.
