The adventure of (yet un-named ) the gnome begins !

Visit to yucatan

church

After spending some time on the coast of Tolum we headed up to Chichen itza to see the ruins and kept going further to Merida,

Chichen itza is interesting to say the least, we actually came there to see the pyramids but found the park lined with souvenir sellers screaming “ hola amigo solo un dollar almost free”  it is in a way sad to see this many of them all over the walk ways.

The park itself is nice however some places are now off limits and no one can get to it to take pictures like in the books/ brochures.

If you don’t like to get a tour guide just hop in the souvenir shop opposite the ticket box and get yourself a small info book (75Pes$)

After the park we headed further to Merida to spend 2 nights there..

We did not book in advanced but found quickly a room/ hotel there lots of them close to city square.

The city is lovely and offers local as well tourists a lot of free entertainment like dances/ shows/ theater…as well some cool open bars the food is for sure great!!

Oh yes there is free WHI FI in the city square…
