A No Pun Trip to Goa

We left Mumbai early Sunday morn and caught the 11-13 hour train to Goa, an area located on the coast south of Mumbai and home to many of India's most relaxed and beautiful beaches. Sleeping in a stilted hut, laying in the sand, and catching up on our nothing-doing is all on the agenda for these next few days. Our hut is literally steps from the exotic Arabian Sea; sandwhiched in between the surf and a forest of thick palm trees. Last night we dozed under a joint mosquito net listening to the sound of crashing waves and distant trance music.
The beach itself is a hub of activity but by no means crowded, and the temperate climate peaks between the noon and dinner hours, then fades away to a chilly nightime perfect that calls for blankets and even sleeping bags. Many of the beach patrons appear to be European couples away on holiday and we have seen many a shiny white naked baby being dangled into the mild surf.
Now I must cut this entry short as the most essential act of being horizontal beckons.
