Shopping Overtime!

We slept late, thus, we woke up late, and so late that Jof nearly didn’t make it to her interview appointment with Philippines’ pride Ms. Lea Salonga who’s doing Cinderella in Bangkok.  While Jof’s conducting her interview with Cinderella, MJ & I were at, where else, Platinum Mall!

Yes, it’s Shopping Overtime!  We just can’t get enough of Platinum Mall and its cheap cheap apparels and accessories, especially when buying wholesale.  And we can get the wholesale price even by just purchasing three items!  We found our paradise in BKK.  We spent our entire afternoon browsing every shop but still we weren’t able to finish the entire four floors of clothing and accessories.  This mall is so huge!

Our day wasn’t that as unproductive as you may think.  I’ve learned a few stuffs, like haggling (but still not like MJ’s style; bargaining 50% from the price tag).

Santa Condom!

That night, Jof brought us to one of Bangkok’s must-visits restaurants -- Cabbages and Condoms!  When I first heard it, I wasn’t sure if it’s a “real” restaurant as it’s an unusual name for a decent restaurant.  What’s with the name?  As it turned out, the owners are advocating that condoms should be as common as cabbages that are common food in Thailand.  Since cabbages are everywhere, condoms should be everywhere too and should be part and parcel of Thai’s basic needs. 

When we got there, it was indeed a condoms kingdom!  Their theme -- Condoms!  Everywhere!  There’s a condom table top, condom chandeliers, a condom ship, even Santa Condom!

With the food, at first I thought it’ll be subtle-style Thai food because the place was full of farangs.  But when our orders came, their papaya pokpok was excellent!  And it was hot hot hot!

After our meal, condoms were given.  So instead of mints after dinner, condoms were served!  There are also bowls of condoms at the exits just in case you need an extra.
