I found myself wandering around my neighboring countries again, savoring its magic&charm. W/ MJ, we strolled the streets of Singapore, KL, Penang, Bangkok, Lopburi and Ayutthaya, while I’ve gone solo in Vientiane. At the end of it all, I got sensory overload w/ new&exotic flavors, old&distinct scents, stunning architecture&historical landmarks, loud&quiet sounds, busy&serene air – but still I want MORE. I simply can’t get enough of Asia.
It all started with an invite to my girlfriends MJ & Len to put our wanderlusting to the next level, that is, to travel around Southeast Asia -- Singapore, Kuala Lumpur & Bangkok -- in December.Because of Cebu Pacific’s non-stop international zero fare promos, they immediately agreed on the idea.MJ even booked her tickets like three months before our planned trip!Everything was well planned, thanks to MJ and her everyday Wikipedia-ing and never-ending Excel updates of our IT.Planning went out smoothly.
A few weeks before our flights, I got pre-occupied with my tiangge (bazaar) business; Len backed out; MJ stopped sending her Excel updates; and Bangkok airports closed down due to protests.I was in a dilemma to continue this trip.Should I entrust my tiangge to my new business partner and go on with my trip with the possibility of being stuck in Bangkok?(The latter part I actually like.:)).But I couldn’t back out on MJ, as this was my idea in the first place, or simply, I couldn’t resist traveling!
A day before wandering around Southeast Asia, I’m still 50-50 with this trip.But I got my answer when the moon smiled on me.
So, I found myself (again) in Cebu Pacific’s aircraft and, this time, bound for Singapore!
