A Darwin sunset

Woke so that we could get a lift to Chillis with Shirty (Greg?) on his way to work at 8 a.m.   Couldn’t check in to the room just yet, so we threw our bags in to free storage at Chillis and went to get brekky (Banyan cafĂ©, much better bacon and eggs here). Checked in at Chillis, had a half hour nap or so, and aimed to hire some bikes at about lunch to ride for couple of hours.

Rode down to Cullen bay, past Botannic gardens (they spell with 2 n’s!) out to Mindle beach, past Fannie bay out to East Point Reserve.  Turned back around to get bikes back by 2 or so, and meet up with the Belgain girl Caroline at 2ish

Ordered a taxi from outside Wilderness which was about a $10 cab ride down to Cullen Bay. Caught the 3 pm ferry out to Mandorah peninsula. Out there, we found about a 20m pool under palm trees, an open air bar and pool tables.

Many a philosophical discussion with Drew and Caroline, also discovered she was once Belgian inline skating champion. We kindly taught the Aussie pool rules to her, didn't even make here run aroudn the table with her pants down!  Managed to stay sober enough to get the 6ish ferry home which timed perfectly to watch the sunset from Mandorah peninsula.

Caroline had a call from a guy considering driving to Cairns and had arranged to meet at Shenanigans at 8, so we met her down there at 8:30 (of course the bloke hadn’t showed up).  Had the Northern territory experience dinner with Kangaroo, crocodile and barramundi.  Next morning was to be our 4WD Wilderness tour pick up
