Pingtung County (Starting Point)

Finally the actual road trip begins in this lovely southern county of Taiwan. The pictures that you’ll see are the city of Pingtung and parts of the national scenic area along the shore of South Western Taiwan. It is what you can expect to see going towards the famous Kenting National park area. I’ll not give out the general information of all these places but more on what I saw and felt while I was there. Life down here is quite slow compared to the more industrial / business centers of the North (Sound familiar?). Wages are generally very low and almost impossible to find a meaningful life long career living down here in the South. It is currently not politically in Taiwan’s interest to develop the southern counties which you can expect that things would pretty much continue to stay this way for a while. These basic factors makes it all the more reason for tourist to come and check out Pingtung especially for those on a budget that likes beautiful sea shores in a tropical climate. I hear that this is one of the hottest county in Taiwan so if you come here during the summer months be prepared to sweat.
