Today being Veterans Day, My friends and I got a special visit from my special friend Grant (rogers10). Grant was home on R&R from his service in Iraq. He came by to meet with my students and tell them about what life is like as a soldier in the middle of a war. Grant shared stories with them and thanked them for their support, prayers, packages and well wishes. We all enjoyed just hanging out and he looked so sharp in his uniform.
Grant drove all the over from his parents home in Louisiana to spend half a day with me and the students. Even with all the problems he had that day including a broken down car and some other issues, he still managed to come by. We got to go out and have lunch and do a little shopping while he was here. It was pretty incredible the number of people who would come up and hug him and tell him how proud they were of him and the others serving our country. It was a good feeling that I even got to experience. We are proud of our military here and abroad as well as the other brave soldiers from other countries who fight to protect freedoms around the world.
I think you see everyone had a great visit and hope that Grant and all the men and women serving their countries stay safe.
