Going Home
On Monday morning, Dennis and I headed out early. It had been raining and was supposed to be a little slick, but we made it to Schiphol just fine. Dennis dropped me off and I went in and did my check-in. I would be meeting Erin this morning because we were flying back to the states together. But I knew she would be here at the last minute so as to spend every second she could with Brett! haha
I was already through security and was in our boarding area wondering if Erin was even going to make it. And then someone tapped me on the shoulder. Yep, it was Erin. And I could tell she had been crying from saying goodbye to Brett. And then as we were looking at our tickets, we discovered that our seats were not together, and they were supposed to be. We immediately went to the desk to complain. After some brainstorming, they finally got us seats together, but they were not window aisles. Instead, we were put in the middle. I hate Continental, and will not fly them again unless I just have no choice.
But all things considered, we had a great flight back. We drank wine and champaigne, and had loads of fun talking about all we had done on this European whirlwind tour. We arrived in Houston that evening...my connecting flight was to STL and Erin's to Sacramento.
