Ringing in 2009 in Groovy
After attending Alyssaâ€™s (allyssa_ob) birthday bash in
New Yearâ€™s Eve Attendees

To begin the evening, eight of us dined at the Radisson Hotel Standing Stone Buffet & Grill. The restaurant served a variety of dishes, but I was most enamored with its prime rib and scrumptious desserts. Our early group consisted of seven lovely ladies and me. I felt a little sorry for the gals, but I was in paradise. J
Next, we strolled across the hall to the Oneida Casino:
There, we headed to their nearby main lounge. For New Yearâ€™s Eve, the venue featured three rotating bands thoughout the night. We were entertained by:
1. James Intveld â€“ until around
2. Dale Watson and his Lonestars â€“ took over and brought us into the New Year.
Soon, we were joined by three other pals, making us a total of 11 wackos. Bradyâ€™s presence doubled the guys and increased the fun. We had a blast chatting, laughing, dancing and whooping it up all night long! Everyone was in a festive mood and time rushed by quickly.
By a fortunate quirk of events, we got to ring in 2009 twice. The lounge and casino clocks were about 2 minutes apart, so we celebrated the countdown and craziness a couple of times.
Later, most of us ambled over to Purcelâ€™s, another casino lounge, and listened to Replica, a Journey tribute band. Everything they played was great; however, it was their version of Led Zeppelinâ€™s â€ś
Finally, after more mischief, we called it a night. What a wonderful way to start 2009!
