Memorial Day Drive

I am such a big kid when it comes to animals. One of my favorite places to go is the zoo (although after a real safari in africa, the zoo is not as exciting). At the Safari Park in Natural Bridge, VA you have the opportunity to buy buckets of feed for $3 each or 4 buckets for $10. We got 8 buckets and went through all of it. When they come close enough to eat then you are able to pet most of them, some are still skiddish. Lots of hoofstock, osterich, camels, and llamas. You're just not supposed to feed the zebras and bison (we did anyway). I am guessing that is because they get too aggressive because one of the bison stole my bucket! It was a lot of fun and mom enjoyed it too.
There are other additional areas to the drive thru safari park. There is a giraffe feeding area, but none of the giraffe would come close to the platform. Maybe they weren't hungry... the little baby was cute though. There is a new aviary where a very mean bird of some sort was chasing me. I really wish we got that on video I was told it was hilarious. I didn't think is was that funny though. The damn thing wouldn't let me leave, he just kept lunging at my feet. I finally had to shoe him away with my bag so I could walk by. Sarah was laghing hysterically. There are also a few other small pens that contain tortoises, kangroo, peacocks, and there are suppose to be tigers coming soon.
