A quick trip into hong kong, just a day or so stop over between Japan and Sri Lanka.
Hong Kong was a great place to come and finally see what everyone raves about. It was exactly as we expected, hugely built up, people everyone trying to flog you anything and everything, and no sky to be seen through the fog (or was that smog?).
We arrived from the airport by bus to find our little hostel room inside one of the huge 'mansions' along Nathan Street in Kowloon. Our deluxe room, slotted in amongst the thousand of tailoring chop shops, was certainly very little and the plane sized toilet with shower was something to behold. A nice home for two nights.
We spend the majority of our time just walking the streets, eating chinese noodle soup and checking out everything that makes china weird. There was a plan to get up to the lookout out over honkers, however the smog (or was that fog?) screwed the pooch there. We did see Bruce Lee's statue along the stars walk though, Bruce is always a winner.
A nice place to spend a few days, can easily see how you drop a huge amount of cash and come away with 15 suits.
