Having been to Brisbane before we didn't really need to do any of the day trips again, so instead we had a lie-in, late breakfast and got the bus into the city centre.
For some reason I remember absolutely nothing about the centre of Brisbane itself, nothing rings any bells and I'm getting none of the usual deja vu. After a quick march down the main shopping street we head over the bridge to the southbank. Which suprisingly enough does resemble the one in London, going over Victoria Bridge you've got something that looks like the festival hall and a sligtly smaller London Eye right in front of you. Then it's a leisurely stroll through the park and the Sunday markets, before finally heading back over the Milliennium footbridge to the botanical gardens.
Which brings you right back round to the shops again, so to kill some time we did a bit of shopping. Nothing spectacular, the main priority being masking tape to seal the insect nets tighter to the frames of the windows. When parking next to trees/bushes it's best if the red ants can't climb in through the gaps to sting you in the middle of the night.
