Katherine Gorge 1

Having reached the most northern point of our tour of Australia today we actually headed south again, not too far though. To get to Western Australia we had to back track on ourselves to reach the Victoria Highway, which will take us to Broome and beyond.

I'll update the rest of this tomorrow when (if) they sort out the internet at this park.

Well they never did get around to sorting out the internet, so I'm now updating this from Broome.

After arriving in Katherine mid-afternoon, it was a little too early to hit the camp site. So in true Phil style I just head off in the direction of Katherine Gorge, it looked good in the guide book and we didn't see it the first time we were here. Due to the heavy rain, quite a few of the roads were still closed & due to the crocs in the area, they'd also stopped people putting boats in the water. Lucky for us this meant a lack of people being around, so we did our walk up to the lookout and round the cliff top track all on our own.
