Prasat Kravan

If 5 sites yesterday wasn't enough, we're going for 6 today.

First off we headed out to Prasat Kravan, a really small temple but one of the earliest found and with really intricate carvings on the inside. Once again we got jumped on as soon as we got off the Tuk Tuk by all the hawkers selling their wares, managed to avoid buying anything this time.

Next up was Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang, the first used to be a large monastary, the second an apparent landing platform in the East Baray.

Ta Prohm followed and we quickly ran into the crowds again, this time large groups of Japanese tourists with what can only be described as "wooden" cow bells.

Two of them took it in turns to see who could be the loudest and most annoying, they both won. We quickly put some distance between them and us by heading in the opposite direction, but eventually you could hear the clanging as they approached. Time for another sharp exit. Oh yeah I forgot, apparently this is site was the one in the movie Tomb Raider.

The Tuk Tuk driver must have sensed the tension as the next site was off the beaten track, so much so that at one point we headed in the wrong direction. Only realising our error when confronted by a temple that looked strangley familiar but from a different angle. After doing a u-turn and walking back up the path, we could see the Tuk Tuk driver waving & laughing at us. He pointed us in the right direction and then we had a 25min walk through the jungle on a small path to find our destination.

Ta Nei was pretty much in a condition you'd imagine some of the other sites would have been in before they'd be discovered, the jungle came in really close and it looked like nobody had been there for ages. There were no other people at the site and we didn't actually see anyone else until we made it back to the main road.

Last stop of the day was Preah Khan, this is another site where you can actually see the trees taking over the buildings and in some cases breaking them down.

I'll have to read the manual then. I'm sure the nice people at Canon knew what they were doing when they created the "auto" mode
