Another day diving
Today we woke up at some crazy hour considering we're on holiday to go diving from Port Douglas. At the moment I'm not entirely sure what the sites were called, I seem to remember something about Nursey Bomme, Phil's Reef and one that I'll fill in later.
Happy to report that there were a lot more fish around today compared to yesterdays diving, ranging in size from the glass fish to the a huge reef cod called 'Axel'. Which once Wendy and I settled on the sandy bottom was happy to come over and be stroked from head to tail. Unfortunately I was suffering from a severe case of earache & ultimately the grumps, so no pictures were taken of this happening. The dive guide had a chuckle when Wendy touched Axel and recoiled with a squirm, only to report on the surface that he was slimy.
I'd still like to go out to reefs that the day boats can't get to, but that would mean a liveaboard and forgoing the luxury of our hotel room, so that won't be happening here. Maybe when we get over to the West coast after 6 weeks crammed in the camper we'll be more than happy to go out on the liveaboard to Rowly Shoals.
There is another dive trip scheduled from tomorrow, but there's word of more wind & rain in the pipeline, so you never know.
