Concert-goers arriving.
Although we were familiar with this event from TV coverage, the experience far exceeded our expectations. We booked a limo for transfer from our hotel to the Musikvieren the day before and arrived at the concert hall at around 10.30 for the start at 11.15. Just taking in the scene outside was amazing....seeing all the people arriving for this very special event. With some trepidation we approached the entrance and produced our tickets (even at this stage we couldn't believe we were actually doing this). Maybe the tickets would be forgeries or maybe there would be some other problem, but no, all was well and we entered the Musikvieren. Nothing had prepared us for the majesty of this famous concert hall on New Years Day. Filled with beautiful flowers and the sheer grandeur of the occassion.

Then the concert itself....lasting around 2.5 hours it felt like ten minutes. Certainly, this was an experience which will live with us forever.
