The columbus zoo is a pleasant suprise and my favourite touristy thing to do when I'm in Columbus. Its the nations favorite zoo according to the authors of "americans best zoos" and is also my favorite zoo in america.

Right now the current attraction is the baby indian elephant, and that is what I came to see. Other attractions include australian animals like kangaroos, the dreaded Okapi, and lots of your standard zoo animals. Also it features sea creatures like manatees, and your standard reptile house full of many snakes including a king cobra that escaped a few times.

What sets the columbus zoo apart is that it is affordable, you recieve access too all exhibits, and there are not the huge crowds at similar zoos like the San Diego one. Don't miss the baby elephant while its a baby, the gorillas, and the reptile house. See my columbus zoo blog for pictures.
