Captain Morgan moment
This wonderful day we all woke up to a bright day! Klarke made us breakfast (potatoes and eggs) and we dined outside on our balcony. It was great! What else can one ask for? The ocean and perfect sunny, if a bit cloudy, weather! This was the life! Carefree…no work…free time on our hands…and even better because it was MONDAY! I would have thought that I would be sleeping in because I didn’t have to wake up, but no! I wanted to up and about just looking out towards the ocean.
Klarke, Erika and I got dressed in our bathing suits, shorts and flip flops.
Cecily was staying in and meeting us down there in a couple of hours. Down us three went beach towels and all! This day was a bit on the cloudy side, even though I would have preferred it to be more sunny, well, just a tad bit more but not too hot, but you know, hot enough. It was great! This day Klarke joined me for about 20 minutes in the water before she had enough and said she would send Erika in. Erika must have not wanted to come in because I was the only one of us three in the water. Erika and Klarke laid out on the lounge chairs and I was in that beautiful turquoise blue water…bliss! And it was warm, too! The day before the ocean was rough, well today it was so peaceful with a couple of strong waves every 15 minutes or so. How great is that? I was floating and just having a lovely time by myself. This was the first time (of a few times) that I wanted my sister to be there with me. Yes, she would have been in there with me for the three hours I was in there by myself.
Well, not all by myself. I did start chatting with a few people while in there. They were also from California and not too far from where I live. They were from Santa Monica. They were in there and were also trying to avoid making any type of contact with a couple of guys they had been talking to the day before. It was funny watching them do that. I finally left the water and went to Erika and Klarke. They were so relaxed. I left them there and told them I was going to the pool. This was the first time I went into the pool. This was also the first trip I had that I actually didn’t want to be in the pool preferring instead the ocean. That’s how beautiful it is. I was in there for an hour or so. Cecily finally joined us! But she didn’t get in the water. I was just glad that she was there! LOL! We had a couple of drinks and then went up to the room. We were going to WalMart to get our groceries!
that's why she was only in the ocean for 20 minutes!
We must have left to Wal-Mart at around 4 pm.
It was already getting a bit dark. You could say it was dusk. We walked to the mall again because Klarke and Cecily needed to get to the bank and exchange currency. I did that at the hotel and later found out that the bank gives you a better rate. Eh, now I know for next time. Oh, and it turns out the bank was closed. So we went to the bus stop and waited for the one that would take us to WalsMart. It came quick. The bad part of this little adventure was that the bus driver was a freaking jerk and was yelling and shouting and I wanted to punch him. Seriously, I threw my money at him he was so rude! Boy was I pissed! Klarke and Erika had never seen me mad, so they were kind of surprised. Who treats people that way? Erika said she was mad, too, but she didn’t show it. Then it did not help any that the bus was PACKED! Full capacity, and what kills me is that they will keep on stopping and letting more people in! Well, it reminded me of the MTA in L.
A., too, so I guess it’s not that different. But serious, we were like sardines in a can! I swear! I was so glad when we reached our stop. I was worried that the driver would close the doors on me while I was getting off and start driving while I was stuck! That visual makes me laugh! Oh, and he didn’t do that.
We walked towards WalsMart and I was so happy that we were going to buy our food for the week. It would be much cheaper that way! How funny I say that because the aisle that we spent the most time on was the alcohol aisle. Well, we needed to read the labels! Malibu Rum was our favorite. We got some vodka as well. We took back to the hotel 4 bottle of alcohol, but no beer! Oh wait! Yes we did! Six pack of Coronas.
And of course we got some burgers and salads. The basic things needed such as eggs, milk, break, peanut butter and jelly. Oh yeah! Samich stuff, too! We must have been at WalsMart for maybe 2 ½ hours! There was just so much to see and do! LOL! Good thing there were four of us, too! We had a bunch of bags. In my purse I had all of the bottles of alcohol. Does that tell you that my purse was pretty big? Cause it didn’t seem like it to me. Hmmm…weird. We went to the bus stop to take us back to the hotel. I was not looking forward to this. I was already over the previous bus episode, I didn’t want another one. Well, the bus we took back was high class! It was like a tour bus and it cost more, but I will take that over getting on the other bus any day! We were the only ones on it along with another couple at the start. We started chatting with them, and they were from Boston. Really young couple and they were on their honeymoon.
We congratulated them. They were so happy! It’s great to see people so much in love! This bus trip made up for the other one 300%! It was great! And it seemed like such a short trip, too! I wouldn’t have minded it to be a bit longer.
Klarke, me, Erika & Cecily
When we got to the hotel Klarke started heating the pans because she was going to make us our burgers. How nice of her, right? She took care of us the whole time there. Erika and I were mixing drinks. My favorite was the mango juice with (a lot of) Malibu rum. IT WAS EXCELLENT! That rum was the first to run out. We also had vodka and cran-raspberry juice. That was the 2nd liquor bottle that we finished. We also had Tequila Rose.
We had so much fun talking and playing some drinking games and being happy that other people called the hotel on us and said we were being too loud. Well, we were on vacation and felt we deserved a good time. This didn't stop us from having fun and we kept on going. We did have to close the doors to the hallways and kept it in the main living room. But eventually the doors opened and pillow fights happened and the hotel people were called in again. We must have gone to sleep at 3 in the morning. Ahhh...what a night, what a night!
CHEERS! We're in Cancun!
