One of the many modern buildings of the Potzdammer Platz
After a good night sleep and a great breakfast again we started day 2. First we went to the Potzdammer Platz. It's hard to imagine that this square was empty ten years ago. There was only the Wall then and nothing else. Now you can only see a line on the ground of where the Wall used to be. Besides this, there are many luxury hotels on the square now and of course the Sony Center. We were there in the morning and that's probably not the best time to visit a amusement center like this but we could enjoy the beautiful architecture of this center. The center is build like the Fuji mountain and i have to tell you, it really looks like this mountain. I regret i didn't go here in the evening because i think that must be really nice. We walked to the culural center of Berlin
: the Kulturforum.
There are many museums over there but we chose the Gemäldegalerie. I think this is a very beautiful museum with lots of paintings from all over Europe. It wasn't very crowded so we enjoyed it even more. We got a free audioguide so it was nice to get some information about the paintings and the backgrounds of paintings and painters. We only spent 1,5 hours here because my parents were in the museum as well and they don't really appreciate art. If i was there on my own i would spend more time here because there's a lot to see. I'm sure that the other museums on the forum will be beautiful as well but we had enough culture for the day. So we went to the KaDeWe, the largest shopping center of Berlin. It's like La Fayette in Paris a little but maybe even bigger and more luxury.
If you like to shop or not, it's a must see in Berlin. We had lunch on the top floor where you can find all the food you can think of. I really loved it. After lunch we went to the Gedachtniskirche. It was very crowded around the church because there was another Christmas market. Unfortunately the church itself was closed and it was so cold that i didn't want to go visit some other place anymore. So we decided to go back to the hotel and to have a swim. It felt really good, especially the hot jacuzzi. I stayed there for almost an hour, until i had rinkels in my fingers. We relaxed a little and had dinner in the hotel. We didn't go out in the evening but had some drinks in the hotel and played cards. I was happy to be in bed again in the evening.
