The place lies in the Northern part of Poland. It is real paradise for the kitesurfers and windsurfers during the period of September and October. It is a little bit crowdy during the summer. For sightseeing the best period would be May and June. If you want to go there in July or August it is better not to use the car. Alternative is ferry from Sopot or train from Gdynia. Every mile of the penisula there is whether windsurfers' or kitesurfers' spot. There are unwritten rules between each others about the area of sailing and it really works great. The water is shallow for a miles on the inner side. If you are real professional you can jump out on the other side - open sea. There is no strong current and no tides so for even mediocare surfers it will be resonably safe. The place has got also the "climate" which you can feel for whole the year. In the most narrower spot there is just enough space for the road and the train. To pass from one side to the other it takes only 2minutes walk. The most famous place is Jurata placed almost in the end of the penisula. It has been a SPA since middle 30's of last century.  There is small port called Hel (single L) in the end of the penisula. You can visit there University's Research Institute which tries to preserve the populaton of  the seals in Baltic sea.
