up early AGAIN and only toast and cereal to keep us going for the day!
as we entered wilsons promontory (a national park that is the most southerly point in oz) the bus pulled over. on the grass at the side of the road were a load of kangaroos!! and we walked right up to them! how cool!
we got dropped off about 9.30am ready for our 2 hour walk!!! the first part going up a huge hill was hard but the rest wasnt too bad! we did a walk to pillar point and got some amazing views. we were almost at the bottom of australia, which was cool. on the way back to the bus 3 of the girls took a wrong turn in the car park and got lost! we nearly went without them (obviously we would have come back!) but luckily they turned up.
we walked to squeaky beach which, when you walk bare foot your feet squeak! its weird but cool! the sand is so fine (and white) which is why it squeaks! cheryl (bus driver) dropped us at another beach and we were (apparently) directed to walk along and then up and she'd meet us at car park.
so we headed straight for melbourne and got to our hostel (base) around 7pm, dumped our stuff and headed straight down to the bar for our free drink! the room has 8 beds (bunk) and a bathroom. from what others have said its very clean here which seems to be the case.oh, and its mixed dorms so i have to share with smelly boys! slightly concerned about my roomies coming in drunk and falling over me, or worse! at least im sharing with one other girl from the bus. after a shower all of us went for a wander to the beach, went on a rollercoaster at luna park and ended up at a chinese for some well earned dinner!
