sydney- palm beach + bilgola beach
today is my day out with chris and mike. they are taking me up north sydney to a couple of beaches there.
the drive was nice, through lots of bushland, and eventually through ku-ring-gai chase national park. although we drove about an hour we were still in sydney! i didnt realise it was so big! we stopped at pittwater, which is a huge inlet, similar to a lake. the land has pittwater one side and the ocean the other. amazing houses up here with amazing views. we had lunch at a place called 'the terrace on pittwater' which has a magnificent view across the water. there was a pub downstairs but we went upstairs to the posher bit with the better views! theres me in my vest, shorts and flip flops- v.underdressed! we ended up having a 3 course meal! i had roast pumpkin to start with on crispy sour dough bread, then salmon with fennel mash and passionfruit coulis- yum yum! and for dessert? white chocolate souffle with ice cream in a raspberry coulis sauce! delicious!
we drove another half hour to palm beach where home and away is filmed!!!! how cool?! si i headed into the sea for my first swim and by golly, i nearly got took out by the waves!! they were massive! so i didnt end up swimming, just tried to stay upright next to all the kids!!! what a wuss!
as it was quite a windy day chris and mike took me to a more sheltered beach on the way home called bilgola.
a fantastic day with two fantastic people. once i got home ashley and dean were cooking the dinner- the way it should be! fish fingers, chips and beans- my fave! what an ending to a perfect day.
