a short trip to the cutta cutta caves (cutta cutta means many stars in the local aboriginal language) where we had a guided tour. interesting stuff, the whole cave was under water a few years ago!
bit more driving to mataranka thermal pools- this was gorgeous! a 5 minute walk through a huge palm tree forest takes you to paradise! im not joking, the water was turqouise, crystal clear AND warm! i could have stayed there all day! and i was super brave trying to do handstands in the water! ok, doesnt sound much but i reckon the last time i swam under water was when i was about 10!
another few hours driving and we have a pit stop at the famous daly waters pub. well, famous to marc and i as bill bryson (travel writer) had stayed there with much hilarity! the place is unbelievable- decked out in the biggest amount of crap around! but good crap (if that makes sense!).
set up camp in some dodgy roadhouse in a place called elliott. as it happens the older couple who were next to us were very friendly and chatty. and the lady did reiki! she put her hands on marcs head and within a few minutes his headache was heaps better! she did some more on him a bit later and got rid of his fever too- i was amazed! i think gobsmacked is the word! she even offered it to me which of course i did not turn down. she put her hands on my shoulders and straight away her hands were so hot. after a few minutes i got the odd tingle in my arms and legs! she even asked if i have trouble de-stressing or winding down (see, its amazing!) and she could sense i had lots on my mind! if you ever get the chance you should have it done. its not hippy stuff, just moving your own body's energy around to heal itself. anyway, no more advice!
