kp and his cheesy smile.

"HOORAH" i hear you say. an update on the blog i seem to be hooked on.

well maybe not but here's what ive been up to over the yuletide period!

after finally managing to pick up my robbie tickets (for those of you who dont know, i've had a complete mare getting hold of them. basically, ive had 6 months of solid stress!) i decided it was time to party party party! i caught up with a friend in my old home of st.kilda (aah!) and drank the night away with a heap of irish lads! all good fun!

next day my aussie pal emma and i go to see my future hubbie for a few hours. and it was f***ing spectacular! i screamed, sang, danced and basically went mental for nearly 3 hours! well someone had to considering we were sitting amongst a heap of boring, barry manilow fans or something! why pay all that money to just sit/stand there?

get drunk in the casino with a couple of new hostel mates after only going out for a cheeky one! some rich business guy buys us drinks so who are we to argue!

what else? oh yes, there was my millionth encounter with a 'famous' person.

neighbours night with steph scully.
this time kevin pietersen. yes, the kp man himself. although it wasnt so much an encounter as a 'queue up for an hour to meet him' kinda thing! he's not as hot in real life, a bit moody AND he's engaged to one of liberty x! so all in all, he's off my list!

the evening was spent with more 'stars'- this time neighbours stars! it was trivia night at the elephant and wheelbarrow in st.kilda. its an english (read as 'backpacker') pub that hosts these trivia nights every monday with some neighbours stars chucked in! it was so much fun. obviously they let you in a good few hours before the quiz starts so you get to have a few drinks. and who, i hear you say, where the stars? well, considering i havent watched it properly since i was 15 i was pretty lucky- paul robinson, toadie and steph scully! so the quiz kicks off and they come round each table in turn to have their pics taken! and they were all very nice people i must say! oh hang on, i forgot the part at the beginning about asking questions.

paul robinson- woohoo!
when you first get in you can fill out questions for the stars and a few get picked. me being me and not thinking mine would get chosen, wrote heaps of stupid questions, one that got chosen! it goes as follows:

"this question is from jodie from beds, to paul. whats your favourite cheese?"!!!!!!

paul: " where is jodie?" (me very embarrassed raising my hand as he walks towards me!) "i like smelly cheese, really smelly stuff, like (something i cant remember as i was trying to hard to not turn beetroot red!). whats your favourite cheese?"

me: (cant think of anything....hang on i bought some feta earlier....) "feta"!

paul: "wimp!!"

once again, jodie, friend to the stars triumphs!

after all that excitement the next day i had a tour to the grampians, which is basically national park.

backpackers favourite- toadie!
the weather slowly get worse as the day goes on, eventually turning to pouring rain and very low cloud. so the lookouts were merely just managing to see your hand in front of your face! and where did i leave my raincoat? yes, sydney. helpful. luckily the weather did lift a bit for the afternoon so we did get some good views. i did feel like i spent most of my time in a bus and not doing enough (never thought i'd be saying this....)walks.

i headed to emma's house in geelong (jalong! an hour from melboure) over christmas. apart from acquiring a horrible tickly cough that wouldnt let me sleep christmas was good. of course it wasnt like home and so i didnt feel particularly christmassy still! it kinda felt like any other day but with food and lots of people! lunch was spent with leigh's family (emma's other half).

on the most famous street in oz!
lots of people, kids, seafood and lasagne. yes, lasagne! the weather was bloody pants too, drizzly and cold! so its not even as if we were all in the garden catching some aussie summer rays!

then on to emma's family for drinks and dinner. here we had turkey roll and other meat, plus salad. we were home by 9pm where i proceeded to eat my mini xmas pud that mum had sent me! aaaah! a pretty tame end to the evening compared to my usual encounter at the robbo household!

the 27th was spent at the mcg. to those of you who have been hibernating for the last 3 months, the 'g' (melbourne cricket ground) is where the ashes 4th test was being held, and where shane warne got his 700th test wicket the day before.

apart from england losing horribly the day was a good experience.

the view over the grampians we were meant to see...
the weather was nice (for a change!) and we had fab seats- about 15 rows up from the action and in line with the wickets. england had a good start, then it got boring for a few hours where the entertainment came from trying to keep many blow-up beach balls away from the stewards! cue lots of cheering for when the ball was hit over their heads to the other side, and lots of boos when they captured the balls! the cricket got exciting again towards the end and i got to see warne for a bit batting, which i was glad about (sorry dean and dad, he's a legend!). and of course, the barmy army were fantastic, beat the aussies hands down.

to commiserate our appalling show of sport we spent the evening in the casino! of course not having a clue what to do i watched the guys in a bored fashion.

....and this is the view we got!
that is until i cottoned on how to play blackjack, then it got more interesting! especially when one of the guys (with my advice of course!) won a few hundred dollars!

so im going to love you and leave you now so i dont overdose you! i will add pics asap and catch up within the next few days, so watch this space...........
