Stayed in Playas del Este, travelled to Havana. Met many Cubans on the gay beach Mi Cayito in Santa Maria del Mar, on the Havana Malecon and in the Havana Barrios Vedado, Centro and Habana Vieja. I tried to understand the dynamics of living in cuba, and attitudes towards the slowly changing environment.

Vedado, Habana

During day-trips to Havana, we walked through the streets of the barrio Vedado, photographing public spaces and old mansions around the Avenida de los Presidentes and 23rd St.  Again, locals were very friendly, except for officials around a PCC building which we were strongly encouraged NOT to photograph, and around certain areas of the Plaza de la Revolucion.  The statue of Don Quijote is remarkable.
