Not a common layover at all... it was a fun one!

yes, Houston is friendly!!!
When I was thinking about my connecting flight to Austin, I was looking for the earliest possible one, but due to some lack of information I'd take one with a long layover - around 6hrs... Knowing that I tried to contact Lhea, a girl who lives in Houston and we tried to meet before, but no success. Well, night before I checked my email and no new response...

We arrived to Houston around 1pm. I had to claim my bag, since I'd take a domestic flight, but Osvaldo shouldn't. So we agreed he would wait for me until I recheck my bag and go through security. I was waiting for my bag at the carousel when I heard a sweet voice saying: "Yadi!" I turned around and I recognized that girl.
with Lhea!!! she was waiting for me... how sweet!!!
There she was! It was Lhea! We were in touch last couple of days trying to figure it out how to meet and suddenly she was there, how cool! After a big hug - as we were friends from ever and ever, we asked one of the guys who worked there to take a pic from both of us, well with our cameraS, haha. As a good TB she always carries her camera ;) The guy agreed, but just if we get a pic with him too, mmm. Well... we were about say yes, but he couldn't take a good pic with Lhea's camera, so he felt so embarrased that he didn't ask for his pic anymore, hehe.

Anyway, I was so surprised and she told me she sent me a message letting me know she'd be waiting for me after claiming my bags... really? I didn't check my email that day, I found the message 2 days later, haha. Nevermind, it worked perfect, so good.
:)
.. Well, she couldn't get into the airport - I mean after security, so I went upstairs in order to do the check in. While I was there, they asked me if I'd like to fly earlier to Austin, without paying anything extra, mmm. I'd have done it if I haven't met Lhea. Right now, I was looking for spending a bit more time in Houston, hehe.

Well, I checked my bag, walked with Osvaldo to his gate and left him there. I gave him a big hug and wished him a Happy New Year. Babysitter duty was over... Now it was time to go downstairs again and meet Lhea for my TB Meeting, yay!!!! Love it!!! By the way, the Meeting would be part of my Meeting TB blogs...

....

I was back at the airport around 4:30pm with more than enough time, since my flight was scheduled for 6pm, but it was delayed... bad weather.
this plane will take me to Austin :)
.. oh well, just be patient and read a bit... I had a book I bought in New Orleans with me and had time to walk around the airport and see if I find anything interesting, well I can always take pictures. It was a bit awkward doing that with Osvaldo...

If I'd have known about this delay, I'd have spent more time with Lhea... so bad I didn't know about that, but I didn' want to miss my flight either. Well, I'm coming quite frequently through Houston, so there would me more chances to meet, yay!!!! I was just thinking about Minh who would meet me at Austin's airport... didn't want ojitos chinitos to wait too long for me...

At the very end, we left Houston almost at 7:15pm... OMG! Austin was coming closer and closer... time to be part of a band again, sweet!!!
