happy gang!!!
Today would be Kyon's last day in Austin... our gang was getting smaller... so, let's have lunch all together in one of the funnest restaurants in Austin: "The Hula Hut". It's just on the lake and the day was gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Brian, Mihn and me left the house around noon. Since it was a sunny day, the place was packed, but we were lucky and found a perfect parking spot right in front the entrance and most important under the shadow, sweet!

According to Kyon we'd be 8 people, so we asked for a table for 8 and started to wait. We moved to the bar area. None of us wanted to have alcohol. Give our liver a break!  Kyon arrived a couple of minutes later and then more and more people started to show up.
the 3 of us were ojitos chinitos (Chinese eyes)!!!
It was easy to know who were the unlucky ones who had to work earlier since they were wearing formal clothes... we were lucky we weren't part of that group, hehe. Well, Mihn had to go twice to the front and ask to change our table first to 10 and then to 15 people! haha.

By 1:30pm we got our table. I like the atmosphere of this place, so laid back. This wasn't my first time here. Actually my 1st time here was also with Mihn :) We got more chips and salsa. Brian was the salsa expert and I asked him if it wasn't as good as the one we had last night, but it wasn't. At this point he remembered he had the other salsa in the fridge, haha. Kyon was taking pics with everyone. This would be his goodbye lunch and he loves pics! I think as much as me, which is quite a lot, haha.
my tasty salad with grilled shrimps, fresh!!!
This place is more about tex-mex food with a Hawaiian touch. While everyone were asking for quesadillas, tacos, etc, I got the Hula Hut salad with grilled shrimps. I'd miss the huge shrimps back in Lima, where they are good, but small...

We spent there around 2 hours, just chilling out and enjoying the beautiful day and company of friends. During the morning I was trying to contact Kenneth in order to know if he had plans for later. Last night he told me he'd meet some school friends, but didn't say at what time. So, I gave him a call. He just came back from lunch and would meet his friends at 4pm. Mmm, we would drive Kyon to the airport first and then we could go to meet Kenneth. Mihn and Brian would hang out with an old friend and I would hang out with a TB, sounds good to me! Mihn is the greatest, he felt responsible for me, his guest, and wanted to be sure I'd be okay hanging out with someone he didn't now.
at the airport with Kyon, see you soon!!!
Isn't he sweet?

We were almost arriving to the place we'd meet Kenneth, when we got a phone call from Kyon. He left his camera in the car! Brian found it and we drove back to the airport. OMG! If I'd have lost my camera, I'd have done exactly the same and call everyone until I found it, hehe. Around 4pm we met Kenneth. He had already talked to his friends letting them know he'd be a bit late and ... with a Peruvian surprise, that's me!!!

But before going, we'd stop at his house. It was getting a bit windy and a sweater would be a good idea. Also his mother wanted to meet me, hehe. So sweet! Well, some TB's had met my mom in Lima, so meeting his mom wasn't strange for me at all, but definitely was something new. She'd be the 1st TB's mom I met in real, awesome!!! now Kenneth has to meet my mom too, in order to do that he has to visit Lima, haha.
Kenneth got his Inca Kola!!!
This was a short visit, so bad we didn't have more time and I was leaving the next morning; otherwise I'd have liked to stay a bit longer and talked to Kenneth's mom. Well, another reason to come back to Austin, hehe. Daily I was finding more and more reasons to come back, hehe.

And... I had a gift for Kenneth. I brought something from him from Lima, a pisco? no... an Inca Kola!!! We left that in the fridge and started the drive to the Shady Grove...  well, the Shady Grove meeting and after party would be part of my other blog... why? well, Kenneth wants to be part of my famous Meeting Travbuddies blog, haha. So...
Pls, take a look at: http://www.travbuddy.com/journals_edit.php?jid=117029&saved=true

In our way to meet his friends, we noticed there were some boats in the river.
with Kenneth's mom!!! now, he has to come to Lima and meet mine!
Kenneth was telling me, it's completely packed in summer and it's so nice to chill out with your friends there during the sunny days... I should come back and experience it, since I have never done it, although I've been already 3 times in town... ok, another reason to come back, haha.

Oh! I was forgetting. First thing I did this morning was trying to delay my flight but the airline would charge me US$200 for the International flight!!! No way!!! This was about principles. They had enough money and these US$200 would be more appreciated by me, hehe. So, another reason to come back to Austin....
