Our Christmas tree. (Before the kids got up!)

Nothing too travel related to write about here... Although the whole point of the long trip was to be with my family on Christmas!  This was simply a perfect day to be home after too many Christmases away.  We started the day doing some last minute wrapping before the kids got up.  My brother came over early, then my nephew and sister-in-law. Finally the girls got up and we opened some presents and had breakfast.  I'm getting spoiled with all of these meals! I'll either need some extended time at the gym or an emergency liposuction when this is all over!

Later in the afternoon we all went to my sister and brother-in-law's for Christmas dinner and more presents!  There were 15 of us and it was great to catch up with everyone.  At one point, while we were waiting for dinner to be ready,  at her request I took my daughter for a little test drive around Redlands (the driver's test looms ahead!) and we ended up driving through the little roads in the cemetery which were a good place for practicing driving. My niece, who got hers a little over a year ago, came along with us and we had fun driving around.

Kind of a strange place to be on Christmas Day – the cemetery – but its quiet lanes are a good place for some driving practice! When we got back it was time to eat.  We had a nice meal and then took Grandma home.  Late in the evening five of us headed up to Big Bear Lake for skiing at Snow Summit tomorrow! I was excited about finally getting to see my sister's new place in the mountains!
