I was on my way to the airport to go to Düsseldorf when I noticed that the oil warning light got on. I stopped on a gas station and filled up, but it turned out I got a MAJOR leak and couldn't keep driving... called a towtruck and that was my trip to Düsseldorf... WAAAAAAH.....

A trip that ALMOST happened..... :o(

this is what it looked like where my car had been standing...

I was happy to be on my way to the airport to go to Düsseldorf, but that was not to last. After driven for about half an hour I noticed a pretty loud ticking noise and the oil warning light went on. Ok, I need oil I thought. No big deal. So I stopped on the first available gas station, got 1 liter oil, filled it ip and was on my way again.

But again.. it was not to last. Haven driven about 35 km, my car was empty on oil  AGAIN! Once again I stopped at a gas station, and got some more oil. Filled it on the engine, and waited a bit to see if would be enough. As I was standing there with hood open on my car, a man in his car stopped and asked me what was wrong and I told him. While talking with him, he noticed a big pool of what looked like oil underneath my car and he asked me to back up a little bit.

I so did, and sure enough I got a leak. DAMN... no use filling oil on an engine, when in runs right thru.

I had to call for a tow truck and it took about 45 mins before it came. In the mean time I called Brett and Erin to let them know what had happened and that I wouldn't be able to make it. Bummer... I was so looking forward to see them and the others and here I was with a car that I couldn't drive and 2 hours from the airport I was departing from and too far away from home to maybe borrow another one. It sucked big time. :o(

The towtruck came and checked out where about the leak could be, but it was too much oil spill so he couldn't tell exactly. But it sounded like it might not be that bad.
I hitched a ride with him, and we took the car to the nearest garage.

it doesn't look good at all...
But of course it was closed today, so I won't be able to get the car back Monday the earliest.

After leaving my poor car sitting outside the garage, bleading in the cold, the towtruck driver took me into city center so that I could at least be at mall, staying warm until my Mom came to pick me up. She came after about an hour and we got to my parents place around noon. I just relaxed there for a few hours, pretty bummed about the whole thing, before my Mom took me home.

I called Brett and Erin again to let them know that I was home, safe and sound. Only I really wish I was there with them and Lynn, James, Sal and the others. Hopefully next time things will work out...

See you around guys.. miss you much
