Our next good chance to buy postcards and look around was in Oberammergau.  We had time to stroll, window shop, and even have a nice quick lunch.  If I remember, our tour guide was eating at this little outdoor cafe and he suggested the Bruschetta.  It turned out very good. 

Many of the buildings in town are decorated like the postcards. Very elaborate and beautiful.  The painting sometimes are of people and things and sometimes are there to make the building look more elaborate, like painted shutters next to the windows or very detailed painted surrounds that make the windows look like bay windows or much more than they really are.
