Olympic Pools in Brunei for Everyone

the former tri-athlete showing off... pfft!

Brunei played host to the ASEAN games a few years back.  The event left a bunch of pro-sports facilities such as courts, fields, gymns and olympic sized pools and some pretty serious diving pools.  One day, my British friend and I decided to try out the 50-m pool.  I haven't swam in a while and the weather seems to be perfect for it.  My friend said he just wanted a dip.

A DIP. Yeah right.  He ended up doing laps in the pool.  I could BARELY swim halfway!  Later I find out he used to be a triathlete.  Pfft!  All the swimming I ever did was on pool sides or just lounging around the sand.  Nevertheless we had a good time.  It costs $2 for a single entry and they're open early morning until around 7pm I believe.

We finished the early morning trip with an English breakfast.  Guess what, he's ALSO a former chef.  So needless to say the brekkie was just... WOW.
