Mykonos

After spending the morning touring Mykonos, we met up with my sister-in-laws, and we stopped for a quick bite to eat.  We had all been craving Greek salad and we wanted a lamb gyro. Yeah, pretty much impossible in Greece it seemed like.  Beef and chicken - apparently the lamb is more an American thing.  Interesting!  And the other thing we learned is Gyro is more like a fast food/snack and served mostly at walk up places and/or carts, not regular restaurants.

We found a nice little cafe with outdoor seating right on the beach area where we stopped for our salad and a beer.  It was a great view and wonderful to get out of the heat as well.  Since everything is pretty much painted white in Mykonos, it does reflect the sun but oh wow, was it hot.  We walked around a bit after lunch, stopping to take pics of the beautiful scenery, and soon, it was time to start heading back.  Since there was really no way to walk back and forth to the cruise ships, we were forced to take the shuttle buses and yikes - the island was packed.  It was obviously tourist time there and although Mykonos was gorgeous, not a huge fan of all the people and chaos.
