Parthenon and Acropolis

We headed off to the Acropolis first which was an absolute madhouse.  I've never experienced such crowds - not even on days when Disneyalnd is at max capacity!  LOL.  But I didn't care, I was at the Parthenon and just in awe.  The surrounding views were incredible and I was speechless.  My dream finally came true...after years of studying Greek and Roman architecture in school - I was finally looking at it, not the textbook pictures!  :-)

The only thing that bummed me out a little is all the scaffolding on the Parthenon but I understand it is undergoing major reconstructive efforts so that is not likely to change anytime soon.
