In the summer of 2005 I traveled around morocco doing a summer abroad program at alkhawayn university.

Casablanca was a short drive from Rabat, its outskirts lined with an odd assortment of built up shantytowns.  The thing that was ammusing were that they were multi story bungaloes with a nice steel roof, equipped with satalite dishes but still having that nice vibe of poverty too them.  Apparently in Morocco for forty US dollars you can get a mini-dish jimmied so that it will recieve everything.  So if your ever in morocco and want to see the next mike tyson comeback fight, try to find some moroccan hut with a dish.

Casa has little use for tourists.  The main attraction is the king hassan mosque, which is a brand spanking new masque with a laser that points towards mecca. Be sure to take a tour.

The coast is lined with nightclubs and delicious resturants.  We had lebanese food with a coca cola executive.  And that was our trip to Casablanca.  Not much for a tourists but still a pleasant visit.  enjoy the photos!
