Risanni is like the place of origin of the current ruling family of Morocco from the eary medieval period of Morocco. This is a town full of wonder and awe and is a really great experience to visit. As you can see from my pictures, the town is full of tauregs, who are the blue people of the desert, and they serve as guides to the many ancient sites of the town. Much of the area is in disaray, and there is an ancient royal palace, and a masoleum to the founder of the dynasty but it is off limit to non muslims, but if you want to become a muslim you can register as one... but I imagine that would piss a lot of people off!
It is also a good place to arrange for your sahara tours, which will be a hell of an experience. One of the things of note is that there are some true luxery options for sahara tours, so be sure to check out the price to make sure you get something you can afford.!
