Koala Sanctuary

I think this is my favorite picture.
I took a river boat to one of the western suburbs, Fig Tree Pocket, so that I could visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. It was a beautiful trip about 20km up the river. Once I got there, it was just amazing. I feel in love with Koalas at the Australia Zoo. Now I got to hold one and then see close to 100 of them in and around the sanctuary. I also got some up-close time with some kangaroos. I got to look at a couple of different birds and a couple of wombats as well. I also got to hear a phrase that I never heard on any school field trip that I ever went on when I was in elementary school: "Kimberly! Stop chasing the kangaroo!" There were a couple of groups of school children there and they made the whole place a bit of a zoo, if you will forgive the phrase. It was marvelous. I loved it. It was one of my best parts of this trip.
