Australia Zoo
March 14, 2007
Perhaps the one place I was most looking forward to visiting was the Australia Zoo. I will admit up front that I was never the biggest fan of Steve Irwin. Australia Zoo is the zoo that he helped grow and change into a conservation park. I had a great time.
We left the hotel at 0830 and got to the zoo about 1000. After walking around for a little while there was the inevitable crocodile show. But the show also included snakes and birds.
I have to say that I have fallen in love with koalas. I cannot put into words how cute they are. They sleep somewhere along 20 hours a day. They just hang out in trees and eat and sleep. They are very cute.
The kangaroos were also quite cute. You can actually walk up to the roos and pet them and feed them. I also got to see wallabies, wombats, elephants, camels, tigers, emus and all sorts of other animals. I took close to 100 pictures. I am only including some of the best ones here.
